Mónica was born in Orlando and grew up in Central Florida. Her family is from Cuba and Puerto Rico. She is passionate about making wellness accessible, social justice, creating spaces for people to heal, and working with young people. Her work focuses on community and teaching skills for people to find healing.

In 2013, she completed a 200 hour RYT yoga training and has been teaching meditation and yoga throughout Orlando ever since. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2018, where she studied Health Sciences. While there, she worked for two years at the school’s Wellness and Health Promotion Services, providing stress management and nutrition resources to students and staff. She is involved in the community, leading yoga programs for various nonprofits and schools, as well as teaching ESL for recent immigrants.

Mónica started working with QLatinx in 2018 as a yoga instructor for the Pathways Program, and is so happy to become further involved as a community organizer on the QLatinx team. She cherishes this opportunity to celebrate and uplift the Latinx and LGBTQ+ community in Central Florida.
