They Can't Erase Us!

As the Trump Administration seeks to invalidate the lives and experiences of the transgender community, we stand firm that our experiences and identities will not be erased. This Administration has issued a flurry of attacks against transgender and gender non-conforming people since its inception, by attempting to erode established federal protections in schools, the workplace, and healthcare. The recent actions by this Administration to redefine gender would significantly role back protections of transgender people, and would disproportionally harm transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex people who are among the most vulnerable in the LGBTQ+ community.
In act of resistance, we led a gender and sexuality discussion with our community where we discussed these inhumane policies and gave visibility to our beautiful trans resistance in Spanish. Our efforts to infuse inclusion of our trans community and build bridges with our Latinx community shows are dedication to making sure that transgender and gender non-conforming communities can find safety and familia across Orlando.
On Saturday October 27th our Executive Director Christopher Cuevas affirmed our commitment to fighting for the rights and dignity of our beloved transgender and gender non-conforming communities in Orlando, and across the nation, during the Orlando #WontBeErased Rally.
In their words Cuevas said, "No law or policy will erase the existence of our people. No law or policy will deny the humanity of our families. No law or policy will silence the voices of our community."
We shall overcome. We will honor our fallen, prevent violence from spreading in our communities and fight back against this Administration. No law or policy will erase the existence of our people. No law or policy will deny the humanity of our families. No law or policy will silence the voices of our community. Because transgender people will NOT be erased!
