HCC's youth leaders posing with QLatinx volunteers following the afternoon's workshop.

This afternoon QLatinx volunteers led the youth empowerment group of the Hope CommUnity Center in an in-depth conversation about the politics of gender and sexuality, the history of the Queer Liberation Movement, and how to show up to support LGBTQ+ youth of color. Thank you to our friends at Hope for opening their doors and inviting us to share space with you this afternoon.

Also, a special shout out to our amazing friend and local organizer Hugo Melchor Chable Lara for speaking about the intersection of the LGBTQ+ identity and the undocumented experience. We are thankful for the opportunity to share this wisdom and empower a generation of young leaders working toward change in their community.
