A Bronx native of Puerto Rican descent, Mark Anthony began his involvement with community service work at the age of 15 when he began volunteering at the YMCA and his neighborhood community action team (CAT). During his tenure with the YMCA and CAT, Mark Anthony grew in his involvement and capacity, serving as President of Youth4Youth, and Director of the YMCA's Teen Center. In 2006, Mark Anthony moved to Orlando to be closer to family and to continue his academic pursuits. Following the Pulse tragedy, Mark Anthony chose to redirect his energy to healing and empowering the communities that were most principally impacted by the violence. Through QLatinx, Mark Anthony further promotes the organization's mission of honoring and uplifting the narratives of the local LGBTQ+ Latinx community.
