DIEGO DE VILELA MARINHO
Diego De Vilela Marinho
Graphic Design Coordinator, Executive Committee
Diego is a Brazilian international student who came to US in 2014 after graduating from the State University of Rio de Janeiro's School of Industrial Design with a degree in Graphic Design. Growing up in Brazil, Diego has witnessed homophobic attacks since childhood and took the opportunity of studying in other country as a chance to escape the violence and persecution that became too common of an experience and actively worked to build a safe space where he could truly be himself. When the tragedy at Pulse happened it destroyed his sense of safety here. Instead of staying silent he decided to support the community and found in QLatinx the healing that he needed and set to use his creative skills and lived experience to promote the understanding of and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community.
