Alan Pagán is a local educator and performer. He began his work in activism at the University of Florida. There, he served on the Executive Board of the Pride Student Union. In this capacity, he led educational panels in classes, dorms, and other venues raising awareness about LGBT issues and sexual health. He also helped found the Florida Collegiate Pride Coalition, which helped connect LGBT student organizations from colleges and universities all around Florida. Alan also worked to spread appreciation for Puerto Rican culture as a member of El Unión de Esudiantes Puertorriqueños Activos and as one of their only out LGBT members, helped to educate the Latinx community on the intersectionality of queer Latinidad.
